When trying sink downs have a go at exhaling in different ways: a large audible sigh, out of your nose, through purse lips like a cats bum shape, all out mouth and nose and even making a noise - pretending to be a horse. In this video we also show some things people want to avoid, blowing out for too long, using your arms to get down, unless you need the help of course when you are learning, trying to sink but not actually letting any bubbles out, lifting your knees to your chest, makes it harder for your feet to touch the floor, and when you surface try to inhale and sink straight back down as opposed to gasping for a while first - that's your goal to master this drill.
It helps if you blow a little out of your nose too if you are getting nose burn. Try different ways to exhale and remember to have fun. When this gets easier swimming will too we promise!
